Where the "professionals" help students understand how dogs learn,
build relationships and effectively train based on dogs
as dogs, and not how our society imagines them to be/think.

Carolina Canine, Incorporated, doing business
as A Good Dog’s Life, is co-owned by two
established certified dog trainers, Gail Hubbard and Susan Wilson. Our method has a heavy emphasis on the fact that we manipulate the delivery and/or removal of good things. The human partner take the responsibility to manage and prepare the dog to understand and enjoy learning. We teach you have to coach your do by showing you how to think like your dog and how to train new behaviors you like. A complete understanding of how we, as our dog’s human companion, effect our dog's behavior will help bring out the best in our canine companions. That is why the first class of our Basic Manners Program is dedicated to teach people training skills, important communication concepts, and that our programs are about educating you so you feel confident while showing your dog how to act and respond. At A Good Dog’s Life people will learn that they may need to modify their own behavior before they expect their dog's behavior to improve. A strong respect for effective, positive, trust-based methods of communicating are taught so that all dog owners may leave as 'dog trainers' - confident that their dog is well on his/her way to living a good dog’s life.

Our newest advanture was on June 1, 2003 as we started to develop and plan for Asheville's largest heated indoor training center on a welcoming outdoor campus. Come and see our facility on 33 Hidden Acres Drive, Asheville, North Carolina.

A Good Dog's Life has created a charming training center where the trainers and owners strive to improve and build a trust-based relationship (one of work and of play) with their dogs. The center sits on 3.5 acres which is dedicated to an outdoor 100’ x 100’ sand training field, a 6,000 square foot heated indoors training facility with a retail pro-shop. There is a path through 1.3 acres of wooded area for a future exercise area or possible doggie day school. As an on-going goal, the center’s services will expand based on need and demand of our customers. A Good Dog's Life's commitment is to continue to broaden the scope of services, improve the center’s grounds, and enhance existing services that will meet and exceed our mission statement.
